Palm Springs might be more subdued than its neighbor, Los Angeles, but in part because of this it has its own devoted following that includes celebrities and sight-seeing visitors. Home to a "Walk of Stars," a shopping district that rivals Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive, El Paseo, as well as lush golf greens, museums and cultivated gardens it's not hard to see why.
Palm Springs is, however, not all glitter. It has a very strong natural side. The famous Palm Springs Tramway may be extravagant in its heights, but allows lovers of the outdoors access to some of the most spectacularly alpine trails in Southern California. The four sacred Indian Canyons are filled with rock art and rock formations, as well as waterfalls and rich varieties of fauna and flora.
