Description
Trinity Lake is about 20 miles from Lake Shasta, but to actually get there you take a different route to a secluded valley must less trafficed than Shasta. There are pockets of development along the western shore, which is where you'll find the main marina with houseboat rentals, power boats, cabins and dining.
The area is heavily forested and because this is an artificial, variable height lake it is very easy to find a private beach and camp to your heart's content. If you enjoy a good forest hike you're surrounded by the opportunity. The shape of the land makes it easy to gain some altitude and get a breathtaking view.
