Description
Shaded ponderosa pine forest. This is Paulina Ranger District's most developed recreation site. It offers a half mile loop trail along Sugar Creek. Nearby an old growth stand provides shelter for many wildlife species, including a Bald Eagle winter roost site. Due to the presence of bald eagles there may be seasonal closures on land access in the area so be sure to check posted notices. Campground and Day Use area is closed seasonally Dec. 1 to May 1.

Limited. Cattleguards at entrances. Small toilet buildings have barrier-free design, with gravel approach paths. Trail surfaces are a mix of cinder and asphalt segments. Some mobility obstacles in many sites.

Basic Directions
From Prineville, take Post-Paulina Hwy (State Highway 380) southeast from Prineville to Izee Hwy east of Paulina (County Road 112). Travel County Road 112, 3.5 miles to Beaver Creek Road (County Road 113). Turn onto the left fork (County Road 113) 7.5 miles to Forest Road 58, then follow Forest Road 58 2.25 miles to the campground which is about 12 miles from the community of Paulina and near Rager Ranger Station.
