Description
Quicksilver County Park, located outside Almaden, features a selection of old mining roadways once utilized for mercury (Quicksilver) mining. The old roadways in Quicksilver County Park wind around the Los Capitancillos Ridge in the Sierra Azuls, feature some tricky climbing but little overall technicality.
Suggested roads for mountain biking in the 4157-acre Quicksilver County Park include Hacienda, Mockingbird, Mine Hill and Capehorn Pass. The roads weave beneath tree canopy and across open hillsides with occasional views of Mt. Umhunum. Riders will find a map handy in this area and should be aware that not all trails are open to bikers.

The Quicksilver Complex is multi-use and riders should understand and practice appropriate right of way protocol. Riders should be prepared with a first aid kit, bike repair kit and extra water and food. In addition, a map of the area may come in handy.
