Description
Mt. Diablo is the highest mountain the Bay Area and features a large complex of trails suitable for mountain biking. From the top of Mt. Diablo, views of the surrounding Bay Area are quite vast, making this a popular trail with both local riders and visitors.
The Mt. Diablo trails are rolling with short sections of stout climbing and little technicality on the downhill. Riders should consider bringing a map of the area due to the complexity of options.
A day use fee is required to ride at Mt. Diablo.

To reach the Macedo Ranch Trailhead: From Highway 580 take the Highway 24 exit to Walnut Creek. Follow Highway 24 to the Highway 680 split and head south toward Sacramento. Exit on Diablo Road and turn right. Turn right at the intersection with El Cerro. Stay on Diablo until Green Valley Road. Turn left onto Green Valley Rd and follow to dirt parking lot at the Macedo Ranch trailhead.
