Description
This semi-circular bay is capped off by the beach community of Santa Cruz on its north end and the artist's retreat of Monterey on the south. Sea otters, harbor seals, and bottlenose dolphins call it home, while humpback whales pass on their migratory trail. Monterey Bay also shelters one of the world's largest underground canyons and a kelp forest.
Kayaking, boating, and fishing - either from a wharf or a chartered service - are available.
