Description
Little Corona Beach is amazing in many ways. For one, the views of the Pacific Coast (and on a clear day Catalina Island), are spectacular. Number two, the beach access is rare in that you don't have to chug your belongings down 100 flights of stairs - although, the hill down the beach is rather steep and could be a problem for some.
But now to the actual beach. It is a relatively small slice of sand, framed on both sides by rocky reefs. But this makes for great exploration of tide pools, and excellent diving. Just beyond the edge of the water off the beach is a scattered rocky bottom covered by eel grass - which makes for excellent snorkeling.
The waves here are relatively mild and safe for children, making it a popular little beach for locals and their families. Plus the beach is somewhat secluded, warding off the better chunk of masses swarming the larger beaches.
