Description
The Hole in the Ground trail is one of the Tahoe area’s finest choices for intermediate and advanced skill level mountain bikers.
The Hole in the Ground Trail winds past alpine lakes and hugs ridgelines up to 8000 feet in elevation. The climbs on Hole in the Ground are challenging and the descents are steep and studded with rocks, roots and ledges.
Views of the surrounding mountains are quite grand from Hole in the Ground Trail. Bikers should note that the trail is well marked but can become quite busy on weekends and holidays. A map is handy due to the number of side trails in the area.
