Description
Hensley Lake is located along one of the access routes to Yosemite National Park. Hensley Lake was created by Hidden Dam along the Fresno River and was opened to the public in 1978. The lake provides for flood control, irrigation, recreation and environmental stewardship. The lake and parklands cover 3,155 acres. A variety of recreational activities are provided including water skiing, swimming, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, sailing, fishing, and camping. Hensley Lake charges a day-use fee at the two main recreation areas (Hidden View and Buck Ridge.)

From State Highway 99 in the town of Madera, Take the Cleveland Ave. exit, head east on Cleveland Ave., turn right on Tozer St. and head south on Tozer St., turn left on Highway 145/ Yosemite Ave. and head east, turn left on Road 400 and head east on RD 400. Hensley Lake is located 17 mi NE on Road 400.
