Description
From trailhead to Winopee Lake Trail No. 16, this trail passes through old growth forest near Corral Swamp and Corral Lakes. Excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and solitude. Access to Metolius-Windigo Horse Trail No. 99 and Three Sisters Wilderness. This trail is sometimes not cleared of heavy blowdown, so best to inquire before planning a trip. Early season mosquitoes can be hungry.
The trail enters the Three Sisters Wilderness Area shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness Permits are required for both day-use and overnight travel in the Wilderness from Memorial Day Weekend until Oct. 31. Permits are available at the trailhead.
