Description
Balboa Pier is one of two piers located on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. It is located further east on the peninsula than Newport Pier, and is close to many famous Newport Landmarks such as the Balboa Pavilion and Balboa Fun Zone. The pier has a restaurant - Ruby's Diner (the original) - and is popular for fishing, sightseeing, and otherwise getting a glimpse of the Pacific and the surrounding coast.
Most of the fish caught from the pier are flounder and mackerel. The pilings of the pier are also home to a large number of starfish and mussels.
